Dear Author/Publisher,

We are extremely excited to announce the opening of the 43rd NAACP Image Awards® Office of Submissions! This is the first step towards honoring so many well-deserving authors and projects. The NAACP Image Awards® recognizes the artistic achievements of people of color, and honors projects and individuals that promote diversity in literature and the arts.

In order to qualify as eligible, your project(s) must have been nationally distributed between January 1, 2011 and December 31, 2011. For your convenience, I have enclosed the list of Literature Categories. I have also enclosed the Literature Submissions form which you also, have the option of filling out and submitting online at www.NAACPimageawards.net.

There is a $125 tax-deductible, non-refundable processing fee with each submission and a $15 handling fee with each submission to cover the mailing of the submitted projects to the literary sub-committee members in each category. Forms received without payment will not be processed. Please remember that you must include the category name and category number on your completed submission form(s). If you would like to submit a project for more than one category, you must complete a separate entry form for each submission. Submission fee(s) can be paid by check or credit card online at www.NAACPImageAwards.net. All completed forms must be received in our office by 6:00 PM (PST) on Wednesday, November 30, 2011.

The nominees will be revealed at a press conference in January 2012.  The winners will be announced during the FOX Television live broadcast of the 2012 43rd NAACP Image Awards ceremony.

I look forward to receiving your submissions and, thank you for your continued support of the NAACP Image Awards. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at:
