| Library News | January Holiday ClosingsFor the New Year's holiday, the library will be closed on Tuesday, January 1, and Wednesday, January 2. In observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, the library will be closed Tuesday, January 22.

We will go over how tutor training works (15 hours on March 2nd, 9th & 16th from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm) and what's necessary to become a tutor-just 2 hours a week. No formal training in education is required and you don't have to make any commitments right away. Just show up and find out what adult literacy is all about! | Teens Only! | TAB*Wednesday, Jan 16 | 7 pm - 8 pmIf you want to have input on teen programs, books, and displays in the Teen Area, ask about joining TAB at the Reference Desk. This month we'll be making Valentine's Day decorations for the Teen Area. Manga Drawing ContestThe Library is holding a manga drawing contest for teens! Entry forms are at the Reference Desk and in the Teen Area. Thedeadline for entries is January 15th. Drawings need to be on 8.5 X 11 sheets of paper. Only one submission is allowed per person. We'll be displaying the pictures in the Teen Area and at A to Z Cards & Comics for people to vote on their favorite. There'll be a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner for judges' choice, and an overall people's choice winner (which will become the new background to the teen website). | 7th - 9th Grade Book Club*Thursday, Jan 31 | 7 pm - 8:30 pmThis month we will be reading Cheaper by the Dozen by Gilbreth & Carey.
