We are excited to announce that we are starting a six-month Author Series that features intimate events with high-profile authors celebrating their recent releases. We thought some members of your writing group, Motown Writers Network, would be interested in attending as you share our love for literature and writing, and we'd love to have you attend!
While I also have you here, I am planning on sending out a very similar email for the Out-of-the-Box Branding Ideas Workshop you are working with us on. Are there any specific groups or businesses that you would like me to reach out to to let them know about that event?
Our first event takes place on Wednesday, January 25 at The Whitney from 7-8:30 p.m. The first author we are hosting is Wayne State University President Dr. M. Roy Wilson who will discuss his memoir, "The Plum Tree Blossoms Even in Winter."
Guests will also enjoy drinks and hors d'oeuvres in The Whitney's Music Room along with a meet-and-greet with the author. Following the meet-and-greet will be a book talk, signing, and Q&A with Dr. Wilson.

All About Dr. M. Roy Wilson
Dr. M. Roy Wilson is Wayne State University's 13th President. He was born in Yokohama, Japan to a Japanese mother and a Black father. His childhood was marked by sexual abuse, parental absence, as well as periods as a runaway. His life turned around under the guidance of his High School English teacher and he later received his MD from Harvard Medical School. After becoming a physician, Dr. Wilson developed a blinding eye disease and cancer that was thought to be terminal. He shares more about his experiences in his memoir "The Plum Tree Blossoms Even in Winter."
