Job Title Morning Drive Anchor Auto req ID 13512BR CBS Business Unit CBS Radio Division/Station 1150/1151 Station WWJ-AM Market Detroit Department / Business Unit News Location Michigan - Southfield Job Description WWJ Newsradio 950 is looking for an experienced morning news co-anchor with strong news judgment to work on the air from 5-10AM. Must be conversational and a creative story teller who can develop major local stories and pursue newsmakers to enhance coverage of the station's award-winning news brand. Should have ability to anchor breaking news with little or no copy. This person will also contribute to the website. Required Skills/Experience Must have a commanding on-air presence while operating the board including running sounders for news, traffic, sports, business and other live elements. Must excel in breaking news coverage while maintaining a strong journalistic background, an excellent broadcast voice and delivery. Must be able to work with experienced team to update copy and take complex information and make it easy to understand. Ability to ad-lib and deliver exceptional reports under constant deadline pressure. Expertise in digital audio production and computerized newsroom systems is a required as is involvement in Social Media. Previous experience as an anchor and/or reporter in a major market news department is required. Must have valid driver''s license and vehicle insurance. Preferred Skills/Experience While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Valid state driver's license and ability to operate a motor vehicle required.
