New message from your USA :: Michigan :: Detroit Municipal Liaison, ML Owen
Dear NaNoWriMotown,
Happy New Year! I hope your 2019 ended on a high note, and that 2020 is treating you well so far.
New Year, New goals! Let's tackle our creative goals together. In the off season, NaNoWriMotown will be hosting a monthly Writing Space. For those who haven't attended a Writing Space in the past, it's more relaxed than a Write-In. Everyone is welcome to work on whatever they'd like at whatever stage it's in, which means one person might be sketching a comic panel next to someone writing character backstory next to someone working on revision. It's all fair game! NaNoWriMotown reserves the space to help you carve out time to stay connected to your project, and you fill in the rest.
This year, Writing Spaces will be held at Goldfish Tea in Royal Oak every third Tuesday of the month from 6-9pm. The first Writing Space will be held on Tuesday, January 21st! Hope to see you there.
Additionally, the Flint region is also hosting a similar monthly meet-up this year! They have scheduled 8 Friday meet ups at the Starbucks in Clawson, the first of which is tonight, 1/10, from 6-9pm! For full information on BOTH of these year-round writing spaces, see the forum post here.
Lastly, now that the dust of the holiday season has settled, if you haven't had the chance to take the NaNoWriMotown End-of-Year Survey, you've got one more weekend to do so! Responses close Sunday night, so if you haven't given us your reflections on last November, please click here to do so! Enter your email (optional!) for a chance to win a poster.
Looking forward to a Very Creative 2020,
Owen
