Dear NaNoWriMotown,
Welcome to November first! Please feel free to imagine streamers, balloons, and confetti all around you as I say that. Got the image? Ok, let's try it again.
Welcome to November first!
That looked like quite the party. I hope your Sunday has been full of writerly-goodness. If not, it's not too late to bang out a few hundred words! There's a story inside that only you can tell!
I don't want to distract you from your brilliant storytelling, so I'll be brief. Here are a few things you might be interested in:
- The Detroit region is having an epic rematch against Chicago! Last year we won in a photo finish, but we cannot lose our crown! See this thread for all the info. This also means the return of the Nemesis Project! If you would like a personal nemesis from Chicago to compete with all month long, please fill out this form.
- Are you in need of some help meeting your word count goals? Are you an experienced NaNo vet with wisdom to offer? Please see this thread to sign up to be a Detroit mentor or mentee! You don't need to be new to be a mentee; anyone who wants that one-on-one assistance can sign up.
- Mark your calendar for the 2015 Motown Midway Madness! We're in a new location this year, so please join us at the 15 Mile Road Baptist Church on 11/14 from 10:30-5. There will be the traditional potluck (optional, of course), raffles and giveaways, awesome writers, and of course a ton of words! Last year we wrote a collective 150,000+ words in one afternoon! For more details, see this post on the forums.
- Lastly, for the most up to date schedule of all write-ins and events, keep your eye on the local forum and our google calendar. With at least one write-in every day of the week, there's bound to be one in your neck of the woods! And if not, it's not too late to plan one.
Enjoy this month-long writing party,
Owen
