Jeff Daniels and the Purple Rose Theater Go National on PBS
The Hollywood Actor Who Came Home, Built a Theater in Michigan
On the PBS Newshour – Tonight at 6pm – on Detroit Public Television and Across PBS
Jeffery Brown tells the Purple Rose story tonight on the PBS Newshour at 6pm. Coming up minutes, please share.
Straight from Jeffery:
Maybe you can go home again. Early in his acting career, Jeff Daniels and his wife decided they would take a risk: leave New York and return to the small town of Chelsea, Michigan, to raise their family. His career continued and today is flourishing, but he also created something more: a professional theater company, the Purple Rose, which is just celebrating its 25th anniversary.
Tonight on the PBS NewsHour, Daniels gives chief correspondent for arts and culture @JeffreyBrown a tour of the unlikely arts mecca he calls home.
Enjoy, share, and thanks to everyone at the Purple Rose.
