Hi Sylvia, In our Build Book Buzz Facebook group, an author recently shared his concerns about changes planned for Twitter. Saying he has "invested a lot of effort" in Twitter, he asks, "If it goes away, how will you compensate [for] your loss of [this] medium?" This is why you need an email list, friends. You own your email list. You don't own your contacts on social networks. That means that if Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, or any other social network disappears, you will lose your connectionsunless you also have their email addresses on a list. Need more reasons to start building or improving your author email list? Guest blogger Joan Stewart ("The Publicity Hound") gives us 10 of them in a thought-provoking article today. Read her guest post and let it get you thinking about starting your list or improving what you're sharing with the list you have already: 10 rock-solid reasons why authors should build an email list Cheers, Sandy Sandra Beckwith |
