The Sesquicentennial Storytelling & Literary Expo

The Detroit Association of Black Storytellers (DABS)

Saturday, March 5, 2016, from 10:30AM – 12:00 PM at the

Detroit Public Library (Main) in the Clara Stanton Jones

– Friends Auditorium. 
                                                              

The Expo will center around the Flint Water Crisis and honor Dr. Mona

Hanna Attisha. She detected the high levels of lead in the children in Flint,

MI.

We are also celebrating National Women’s History, National Reading,

National Social Workers Month and the Sesquicentennial of the Detroit Public

Library!

The afternoon session 1:00PM – 3:00PM will consist of POTLUCK, POCKET &

PORCH Storytelling – Yvonne Healy, Jeff Doyle, Gwen Lewis. “Chiquita “ & Mary J.

Grant.                              

Authors may sell their books at a free vendor table.                

Some of the Awardees will be Tonia Jenkins State Director of Zeta Phi Beta

Sorority, Cynthia Bias-Emanuel Pres. Kappa Rho Zeta, Zeta Phi Beta, Sorority

Adriane Mayes and Enyka Matthews-Gaines of CCC Foundation Because We

Care and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and other neighborhood and community

organizations are invited to participate and celebrate!

Parking is available in Employee Lot off Putnam and metered parking on street.
