Super Soul Sunday – Shaka Senghor
Oprah sits down with criminal justice activist Shaka Senghor, an author and mentor who turned his life around after spending 19 years in prison for 2nd degree murder, to discuss the power of redemption and forgiveness.  Shaka experienced a dramatic desire to reimagine his life after receiving a letter of forgiveness from the godmother of the man he shot and killed.  While in prison, Shaka discovered his love for reading and writing.  His new memoir, “Writing My Wrongs,” is an insightful and candidly raw account of what it means to transform a life.  After his release from prison, Shaka founded The Atonement Project through a partnership with the University of Michigan and is a recipient of the Black Male Engagement Leadership Award.
