New Virtual Workshop Options Due to COVID-19 The Detroit Writing Room @DETWritingRoom #michiganwriters #michlit #motownwriters
From the DWR: A Note to Our Community
In light of the coronavirus, The Detroit Writing Room is working hard to put everyone's health and safety first.
As a result, we will be offering workshops and select events virtually. Anyone who buys a ticket to a workshop or event like our Speakers Series will receive a link to join and watch live.
Our workshop leaders also will be sending presentations via email so that you can print out slides or follow along on your screen during the livestream.
Like before, you can choose to sign up with a writing, design or photography coach remotely. Our coaches are happy to work with you via Skype, Zoom or phone.
As an event venue that caters to groups under 100 people, the Washington Room and Conference Room will still be available to rent for smaller gatherings.
We appreciate everyone's flexibility during this time! Thank you for your support and understanding. We hope you and your family stay healthy and that we will see you back at the DWR soon!
- Founder & CEO Stephanie Steinberg
You can now join the following workshops and events remotely!

Our minds can be a very powerful tool or an unfocused restriction. Luckily, we have a choice and the tools to train our minds to attract and create infinite possibilities of reality. In this month's Yoga for Writers class, we will uncover the subconscious thought patterns and habits that keep us stuck, choosing instead to manifest and create any reality we can conceive!
Practice yoga from the comfort of your home at 10 a.m. Then stay tuned in at 11 a.m. for a guided journaling session led by yoga instructor Lindsay Madison.

Michigan's wine industry has taken off, and many women are at the forefront. Detroit, especially, has forged the way for women in wine.
Hear how five women sommeliers, winemakers and business owners are contributing to Michigan's wine industry growth. The Royce owner Ping Ho, sommelier Shelley Bynumof House of Pure Vin, Master Sommelier Madeline Triffon of Plum Market and Shady Lane Cellars winemaker Kasey Wierzba will share their wine journeys and why Michigan is just as good as Napa for producing wine.
Guests will enjoy appetizers from Plum Market, wine from House of Pure Vine and Shady Lane Cellars, and a panel talk moderated by Jaclyn Mischof Tasting Grapes.
Tickets are $35. Wine and apps are included. For those who attend virtually, the DWR will offer a happy hour to taste the wines at a future date.
