The Midwest Literary Walk is an annual literary event on the last Saturday in April nestled in the convenient and historic downtown of Chelsea, Michigan. The event is aimed at highlighting the power of literature and poetry in everyday life. Reading events take place at a range of venues in downtown Chelsea, Michigan. The readings are intimate, giving attendees a chance to interact with the authors. Books will be available for purchase and signing.

Midwest Literary Walk is hosted by Chelsea District Library.

All locations are within walking distance from parking to each venue. For your convenience, please refer to the maps and directions on the event website to assist you with your visit to Chelsea.

TRANSPORTATION will not be provided to and from scheduled events. Transportation is only available for the Detroit Guided Tour.

Full Registration is just $350.00 and includes all scheduled activities and one ticket to the Gala Dinner also includes free submission to the film and play showcases and one reunion T-shirt.

Motown Museum announced today that it will host its sixth annual Motown Mic: The Spoken Word competition series on Fridays in March from 8 to 10 p.m. at Motown Museum. Motown Museum Chairwoman and CEO Robin Terry made the announcement.
“Since launching Motown MIC in 2014, it has emerged as one of our most popular programs,” said Terry. “It began as an opportunity to showcase the rich history of spoken word as part of the Motown label, and it has become a highly sought after opportunity for talented poets and artists from all over the area – and the Midwest – to share their creative talents and celebrate in the legacy that has inspired generations.”
