Twisted Storytellers Bring Personal Stories of 1967 Rebellion

Friday, July 21st

DETROIT, MI –– The Secret Society of Twisted Storytellers will bring five storytellers who will tell true and personal stories of the 1967 rebellion in Detroit. The live, curated monthly event has been acknowledged as one of Detroit's homegrown emerging arts and cultural contributors.

"Storytelling is a way for people to learn more about themselves and each other," says Juanita Moore, president of the Charles H. Wright Museum, which hosts the events. "People coming to these shows experience a feeling of life, growth and excitement through connecting, and that deserves a place to be showcased."

"I ain't seen nothing like it," says Dick Gregory. "Stay in touch with the storytellers. It can heal."

The Secret Society's next event "Detroit 1967" will take place Friday, July 21st, 8PM at The Wright Museum. 315 E. Warren Avenue, Detroit, MI 48201. Daniel Baxter, Dr. Rev. Gary Bennett, Carolyn Colvard with Loretta Holmes and Dwight "Skip" Stackhouse will tell true, personal stories on the theme.
