Community Development in Detroit:
50 Years of Building Neighborhood Power BOOK Submissions

CDAD is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. In recognition of the event, we are planning to produce a collection of works on community development in Detroit. Looking back 50 years from the 1967 civil unrest and thinking forward to the future, we need your stories, thoughts and ideas.
We invite those who have knowledge and experience with the community development field in Detroit (past, present or future) to submit written and/or visual works for consideration to be included in the book.
Additionally, if you would like to recommend someone for us to reach out to for an interview (including yourself), please scroll to the bottom of this form to submit contact info.

Below you will find some topic ideas:

Past:
Origins of Community Development work in Detroit
Past accomplishments and challenges
Origins of CDAD
The climate or context of Community Development work

Present:
How has the Community Development field changed
What are we doing now?
What is the current climate of community development work in the city?
Accomplishments and challenges

Future:
The vision for community development work
Is there a future?
Where is the work heading?
What priority issues need to be considered/addressed as we move forward?

You are welcome to submit more than one piece, however only one will likely be included in the final publication. Not all pieces submitted will be included in the publication.

If you have any questions or experience any trouble uploading your content, please contact: Akua Hill at akuahill@cdad-online.org
