Spare Change is a beautiful new musical that shows the plight of an old homeless man who begs for spare change and his determination to be used by God as a vessel. A family grieves the loss of a loved one while the rest of the world seems to be celebrating. And finally, a grumpy old bag lady with no family, and friend and whose birthday also falls on Christmas, have never had a reason to celebrate.
Spare Change, written and directed by Loren Dean Harper, sheds light on the epidemic of homelessness in America during the holiday season. So often we judge a book by its cover. What does homelessness LOOK like? What does success LOOK like? Often our perception is poisoned by the ignorance of others. Be careful how you treat the next person you see on the street, "lest you entertain an angel."
