| New Author Tips: Do you have a website or blog? Facebook or twitter shouldn't be your only internet presence. Invest in a website/blog. You want to build a homebase for you and your books. FB or Twitter may not be there forever. Always bring the reader to your home not someone elses. Do you have contact info on your site/blog? Always include some way to contact you. Everyday I visit sites and at least one of them don't have any way to contact them. That's a miss opportunity. You don't want to miss an opportunity because you didn't include an email to contact you. Author Tips: Is your website updated with your new book? Include your newest book on your site/blog. Include a blurb about the book. I've visit sites of some top authors and the book featured is two years old. Don't miss out on a book sale by not featuring your latest book. Are you interacting with your readers? You don't have to be on all the social medias, pick one you enjoy and include that information in your contact info. Then interact with your readers. Don't send them to a page you never show up for. That's the quickest way to lose a reader if they show up on your FB page and you've haven't been on it in six months. |
