As Detroit's youth enjoy the summer break, plans are underway for a city-wide event kicking off the 2012-2013 school year! Your organization is cordially invited to participate in the 11th Annual After-School Fair on Saturday, August 18, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. on Belle Isle.
The Youth Connection (TYC) has connected thousands of parents and children with hundreds of after-school programs through its After-School Fair for the past ten years. This year, we will once again serve our City by presenting a city-wide event designed to help parents and children gain greater access to after-school programs, activities and opportunities.
We expect 2,500 - 5,000 parents and youth to attend and sign up for after-school programs, register for school, gather information, get immunizations and other health screenings, learn about child car safety seats, substance abuse prevention and other programs and activities to help them get ready for a successful school year. We have filled an average of 30,000 after-school openings during this event.
We want to invite you to be part of this significant community event focused on learning, health and safety by registering as an Agency/Vendor or becoming a Sponsor.
