Calling all science fiction writers!

Calling all science fiction writers! Put this date on your calendar: Friday, September 2, 2011. That's the deadline to enter your science fiction novella or novelette in The Galaxy Project contest run by the independent e-book publisher Rosetta Books. The competition is looking for entries that meet the standards of excellence set by Galaxy magazine's founder, H. L. Gold. It also marks the reissuing of classic works published in 1950s and 1960s—this time as new electronic editions. The Galaxy Project collection will publish the winning story as an e-book. Its author will receive financial compensation and retain the copyright and all rights other than the initial digital use. Read all the specifics and view the contract here. This could be your great motivator—and your big break.
