SNL's Tanya Ryno and Bill McKinney of Global Pictures join TFC Film Festival Lineup

Detroit- (August 2011) Trinity Film Coalition is excited to announce that Tanya Ryno, producer and writer for Saturday Night Live, and Bill McKinney, chief visionary and producer for Global Pictures, have joined the lineup as guest speakers at the 5th Annual Trinity Film Coalition Film Festival.

After a stellar year of celebrating independent film and the people who make them with TV20's Detroit Short Takes and the Reel Talk With TFC series, this milestone event is set to take place Sept. 23-24, 2011 at the beautiful Virgil H. Carr Cultural and Arts Center located at 311 E. Grand River in Detroit, MI. 

The festival's opening night festivities will take place on Friday, Sept. 23 from 6 p.m.-10 p.m.  and will feature the Filmmaker's Lounge that will present the ultimate networking experience that will include guest speakers to share information about various aspects of the film industry, live performances and music video exhibitions.  Refreshments will be served.

Saturday, Sept. 24 from 12 p.m.- 8 p.m. will feature an exciting lineup of interactive workshops and film screenings from filmmakers from all over the country, followed by the festival award ceremony.  Prizes for this year's competition will be awarded in categories for the best feature, best short film, and music.

For the past five years, the TFC Film Festival has served as a platform for filmmakers around the world to showcase their independent films in effort to receive global recognition.  It is also an opportunity to provide a favorable networking environment for seasoned and emerging filmmakers, provide access to viable resources, create collaborative opportunities, and give birth to new business alliances.

About Tanya Ryno:
 
Tanya Ryno is an American film and television producer, director and writer. Most notably, Tanya worked as the Producer/Head of Production in Saturday Night Live's Film Unit working on Robert Smigel's TV Funhouse animation (including the award winning Ambiguously Gay Duo - voiced by Steve Carell and Stephen Colbert -, The X-Presidents, and Fun with Real Audio), the GoLords Puppet series written by Andrew Steele and the Filmed Shorts & popular SNL Commercial Parody segments. 
 
In addition to her credits, Tanya has generously donated her time to be the production supervisor for six short films directed by Martin Scorsese, Woody Allen, Edward Burns, Spike Lee, Jerry Seinfeld and Kevin Smith, which premiered at the benefit concert for the World Trade Center Relief Fund sponsored by the Robin Hood Foundation, Miramax Films, VH1, Cablevision, and AOL/Time Warner. She is currently directing "23 Seconds" in Atlanta, producing "The Support Group" in NYC and in development with various Music Video productions.
 
 
About Bill McKinney:
 
Bill H. McKinney III is the founder/CEO of Global Pictures and Director of Public Relations for IMPACT NETWORK, which is the first African American nationally owned Christian TV Network.
 
A highly creative and idealistic professional with over 15 years of experience in various aspects of the business and entertainment arena, McKinney has quickly become a household name as a film producer after the successful releases of Blessed & Cursed and the hit comedy CornerStore. He also teamed up with Brandon T. Jackson, Tanya Ryno and Funny or Die to Produce the viral short BIG TWEET that helped to revolutionize short film parody videos.
 
McKinney is currently developing worldwide distribution services with the highly anticipated launch of faith-based Films, and he and his wife Amyra McKinney, vice-president of Global Pictures, have also formed the McKinney Entertainment Agency, which is an entertainment employment staffing agency that specializes in scouting and placing talent for local and national jobs.
