Great Gifts available at the Friends Book Cellar 

 

Give the gift of a great book this holiday season.  The Friends Book Cellar has thousands of great gently used books available at amazing prices.  They have coffee table to children's books from romance to reference books and magazines to music sheets.

The Friends Book Cellar on the lower level of the library will be open:

Thursday, December 1 from 10:00am - 8:00pm

Friday, December 2 from 12:00 - 5:00pm

Saturday, December 3 from 11:00am - 5:00pm

Exploring Africa in Southfield

The Southfield Public Library invites you to join us for an evening celebrating the continent of Africa.

We will explore holidays and celebrations in Africa. What are different ways holidays are celebrated across the continent? How have celebrations like Christmas become incorporated into local cultures and given different twists from American celebrations?

Feel free to dress in African attire.

Hosted by Professor Emeritus J. Calvin McCray. Refreshments courtesy of Art Moran Buick GMC.
