Exploring Africa in Southfield

The Southfield Public Library invites you to join us for an evening celebrating the continent of Africa.

We will explore holidays and celebrations in Africa. What are different ways holidays are celebrated across the continent? How have celebrations like Christmas become incorporated into local cultures and given different twists from American celebrations?

Feel free to dress in African attire.

Hosted by Professor Emeritus J. Calvin McCray. Refreshments courtesy of Art Moran Buick GMC.

Thursday, December 8th at 6:00pm in the Auditorium.
