It's Your Lucky Day!
The Chelsea District Library is launching a Lucky Day collection - the goal is to put the latest and most in-demand books, movies, and music on the shelves and into the hands of our users. Books like V is for Vengeance by Sue Grafton and The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, movies like Bridesmaids and Cowboys vs. Aliens, and albums by Adele and Foster the People have long waiting lists and go from the holds shelf to a user and then straight back to the holds shelf. The Lucky Day collection items are additional items added to the collection based on demand. We'll still have waiting lists, so you'll still be sure to get your hands on the item you want. But now there's also a chance to get lucky and spot the item you've been waiting for sitting on the shelf. Meet Dawn!
Meet Dawn, the newest addition to the Chelsea District Library family! Dawn works as a library aide making sure materials are back on the shelves as quickly as possible, while keeping items in order, making them easy to find. Married and a mother of two, Dawn graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Wildlife Biology. She enjoys reading, hiking, gardening, swimming, playing board games with her family, and watching her kids play sports. She is constantly on the go with their activities, and loves it! A few of her favorite books are South of Broad by Pat Conroy, Winter's Garden by Kristin Hannah, and Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy. She also enjoys reading non-fiction books about cooking, living healthy, gardening, and dogs. Please welcome her the next time you are in the library! | |
