Peculiar Treasures

In this week's Spotlight we feature "Peculiar Treasures" by Bernadine Okoro.

Peculiar Treasures spins a tale about female relationships set in the heart of Washington, D.C.

When Benevolence James asks Yasmine Blue, Octavia Kalu, Leah Decruz, and Simone Dussette to participate in a mentorship program, Benevolence feels sure that she is following the Master's plan despite her own issues. However, her new "mentees," each saddled with different attitudes, beliefs and shortcomings prove to be less than sisterly. Will differences between the women disrupt their budding spiritual foundation?

When Benevolence unexpectedly lands in the hospital, Yasmine, Octavia, Leah and Simone must "squash their differences" and help Benevolence get back on her feet. They soon begin to journey through life's circumstances as comrades learning that "blood is thicker than water," that blood being the blood of Christ.
