| Hot Read of the Month Sinners & Saints by Victoria Christopher Murray & Reshonda Tate Billingsley "Double the fun, with a message of faith, Sinners & Saints will delight readers with two o f their favorite characters from two of their favorite authors. It's a match made in heaven!"--Grace Magazine
Considered to be one of the best collaborations of au thors in recent times, Sinners & Saints, by Victoria Christopher Murray and Reshonda Tate Billingsley promises to leave you cra v ing even more. When these two popular authors decided to bring their favorite heroines together you knew that the result would be good, but probably nowhere near the result that was delivered from these two bestselling and award-winning authors. In the book, a coveted position opens up - president of the American Baptist Coalition - both women think their husbands are perfect for the job. And winning the position may require both women to get down and dirty and revert to their old tricks. Just when Jasmine and Rachel think they're going to have to fight to the finish, the current first lady of the coalition steps in...a woman bigger, badder, and more devious than either of them, while you just have to read it to find out. Sinners & Saints gives you drama, laughter, and suspense that leaves you completely engaged. This is an excellent read that won't leave you disappointed. |
| | DPL Featured in the February Issue of Hour Detroit Magazine The Detroit Public Library's E. Azalia Hackley Collection is currently featured in the February issue of Hour Detroit magazine.
DPL's own Romie Minor, assistant manager of the library's Special Collections Department, was interviewed in the magazine's 4-page spread, and discussed the popular E. Azalia Hackley Collection at the Main Library.
Originating in 1943, the Hackley Collection was the first archive of its kind in the world and features over a quarter-million items from African Americans in the performing arts in the library's vertical file.
"It's a great resource, because a lot of people think everything is on the web, which it is not," says Minor. "People are astonished at what we have here."
One of Detroit's best-kept secrets has been revealed and is available to you to explore. Visit us at www.detroitpubliclibrary.org/Hackley or call the department for additional information at (313) 481-1398.
Or when in Midtown Detroit, just stop by the library and discover the E. Azalia Hackley Collection for yourself and be amazed.
