Submit to The New York Times' Op-Docs Section Op-Docs is The New York Times editorial department's forum for short, opinionated documentaries, produced with wide creative latitude and a range of artistic styles, covering current affairs, contemporary life and historical subjects. Op-Docs videos are produced by both renowned and emerging filmmakers who express their views in the first person, through their subjects or more subtly through an artistic approach to a topic. Each is accompanied by a director's statement. NYT accepts submissions of Op-Ed videos that present a clearly articulated argument or viewpoint like a traditional Op-Ed essay and relate to topics in the news. In addition to completed videos, NYT will consider written pitches along with links to representative footage. They cannot consider film trailers, nor consider videos that have already been posted online or broadcast on television. In addition to new short works, they can consider pieces that are adapted from longer, topical works-in-progress. Submissions should be no more than five minutes long. Join the conversation on Twitter with the hashtag #nytopdocs. Also, follow the Op-Docs series' producer and curator, Jason Spingarn-Koff ( @jskoff), and @nytopinion on Twitter for updates. You may also e-mail comments or queries to opinion.video@nytimes.com. View sample videos. Interested? View submission guidelines here. Submissions can be emailed to: opinion.video@nytimes.com. In addition, DVD screeners can be mailed to the editorial department but will not be returned. Create Q of the Week Q: How do you want your audience to feel when they are engaged with your content?
