CHURCHES, BLOCK CLUBS AND COMMUNITY GROUPS SIGN ON FOR 6TH ANNUAL ARISE DETROIT! NEIGHBORHOODS DAY REGISTER TODAY TO SHOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING TO CREATE A BETTER COMMUNITY DETROIT - The North End Neighborhood Patrol is part of it. So are the Hague Street Block Club, the Stoepel Street Block Club, the Detroit College Promise, the Detroit House of Hope, Paving the Way for Youth, Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and Muhammad Mosque No. 1. These are just a few of the groups and organizations, churches and block clubs that have already registered their events for the sixth annual ARISE Detroit! Neighborhoods Day on Saturday, Aug. 4, in neighborhoods all over Detroit from sun-up 'till sundown. There is still time for you to join them by registering today at www.arisedetroit.org, and qualifying for banners, t-shirts, cleanup bags, five cases of water and more. The registration deadline is July 15. The day is a spectacular demonstration of community pride with more than 100 community service and improvement projects and celebratory events in more than 100 neighborhoods. Last year, nearly 170 events were held on ARISE Detroit! Neighborhoods Day, stretching from the riverfront to Eight Mile Road. Hundreds of organizations and thousands of volunteers participated. The idea behind the event is to create an opportunity to showcase the pride and spirit of neighborhoods and forge relationships that can help improve the quality of life for city residents going forward.
