Dear Friends & Fellow Narnians,
The tenth annual C. S. Lewis Festival events begin in just two weeks with a book discussion of The Screwtape Letters at the Charlevoix Public Library on October 17. Check our Web site for a list of book discussions. You and every playwright you know is invited to enter an original Lewis-inspired play in our Scriptwriting Contest. The deadline is October 19. Details and a downloadable entry form are available on our Web site. Don't forget to register for the Saturday Seminar, featuring Harper Collins editor Mickey Maudlin, Dr. Christopher Mitchell of the Wade Center at Wheaton College, author Sarah Arthur, and Peter Schakel of Hope College. Registration is only for the Saturday Seminar on October 27. The Manthei Speaker, which takes place the night before, requires no registration—all you have to do is show up! Will your child be trick-or-treating this Halloween? Bring them to the downtown Petoskey trick-or-treat event on October 27 from 10:00 to noon. They can participate in C. S. Lewis Festival activities in some of the downtown locations. Stuck on costume ideas? Why not a Narnian character? We'd love to see some talking animals, kings and queens, and even Aslans. To Narnia and the North! Anne McDevitt Executive Director C. S. Lewis Festival, Inc.
