YP4: What Do You Stand For?JOMLP stands for the right to read!

In 2007, the Josie Odum Morris Literacy Project (JOMLP) was birthed out of an identified need for a family literacy agency in Inkster, Michigan. Spearheaded by Young People For (YP4) fellow Robin Morris, a group of community leaders and educators came together to establish JOMLP, a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit agency committed to providing new books, forums, literacy workshops, and one-to-one reading and writing tutors to children and adults who live in the Metro Detroit area.

We salute Young People For for their continued commitment to supporting youth-led social justice initiatives nationwide that yield long-term community change.

JOMLP exist because YP4 believed in our vision of creating innovative
literacy programs for youth, adults, and families to achieve their full potential.

Young People For is now recruiting for the Young People For (YP4) Fellowship program

YP4 is a strategic long-term leadership development program that identifies, engages and empowers the newest generation of progressive leaders to create lasting change in their communities.  The one-year fellowship equips college students with the skills and resources necessary to create lasting change on their campuses and in their communities.

---Training from national and regional progressive movement leaders

---One-on-one coaching from YP4 staff and/or other progressive movement leaders
