An Evening with Ed Dwight (Detroit, MI October 18, 2011): The Detroit River Project will hold a reception and exhibition for Ed Dwight, the creator of the Underground Railroad Freedom Monument at Hart Plaza in Detroit and his featured work at the Virgil Carr Center for the Arts in Harmonie Park (Paradise Valley). This event will end the UGRR Conference a fantastic conference on the historical significance of the Underground Railroad Freedom Monument and the thousands of ancestors who traveled north for freedom and opportunities. UDMercy and The Detroit River Project are the hosting partners for the reception. Ed Dwight the sculptor of the Intl UGRR Menorials was just honored by the US Senate resolution put forth by Senator Levin, Congressman Conyers,& Clarke....
