Rich Brauer and his gang recently wrapped Dogman in Traverse City and Harold Cronk at 10 West Studios is working on Mickey Madson in Manistee and Ludington. We even had a small budget production going in Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo this past week. Dot Com Affair is starting up in Benton Harbor with a nice size project rounding out our fall with productions finding their way to West Michigan.
We are grateful for the business and the help of the film incentives to get three of these projects rolling. We are not sure what the future brings with new legislation offered up in the senate, but we do know that we like the jobs, like the press and positive comments from the community when a film takes place.
Stay tuned on new legislation as we look to 2012 to build on the west sides film resume. For those in the film community now is the time to have faith that we will have a busy 2012 as productions jockey for position. It is obvious that we will play with new rules for next year as legislation has been introduced to change the percentage amount of incentives given to productions.
