How to craft back cover copy that sells via @novelpublicity

This week, we had quite the spirited debate on our Facebook page as a reaction to a blog article titled "For the love of all that is holy, please hire a professional editor before self-publishing." Now to follow-up, we're discussing what it takes to produce a sales description of your book that will compel readers to take the plunge and make that purchase. We hope the advice helps.
