GR Firm goes global

Shellenberg and Evers - GR Accounting firm consults with Alaska Film Incentives

The Grand Rapids, Michigan CPA firm of Schellenberg & Evers is completing a consulting engagement to formulate, design and implement a set of agreed upon procedures to administer the Alaska film credit program. These comprehensive mandatory procedures will clarify and streamline the processing of film credits for Alaska. It included putting on a training seminar for Alaska CPAs in January. Part of the process consists of standardized coding that will track expenses from entry to verification by the CPA directly to the final Alaska reporting forms. The firm hopes to share this process with other incentive states and countries. Schellenberg & Evers has worked on over 40 film credits to date.

List your location

At the West Michigan Film Office and the State film office we hear from businesses and individuals who have great locations they think would be great as the backdrop for a movie.  We encourgage you to post photos on line with the state, as we use the state photo database when searching for suitable locations.  The state uses a system called Reel Scout that is easy to post photos and information.

Follow this link and help expand our photo library.    Enter your photos here.

PS. We heard from a student film this week who was trying to get the look of a spaceship for their upcoming senior project.  We used that discription in the photo database and came up with the entry tubes at Cobo Hall in Detroit.
