SPRING BREAK AT CROMAINE LIBRARY!
Events are planned for each day during break. Please register online so that we have enough room for everyone!
For Ages 5-12, GRADES 1 -7
(see details for age specifics) Monday, April 9 at 10:00 and 11:30 am Learn fascinating facts about the Mississippi River, make a jumping frog and make and float a toy raft. For ages 6 - 12.
Enjoy an American Girl tea and learn about Becky Thatcher's life in the 1800s. Bring your dolls if you have them! For ages 5 - 12.
Wednesday, April 11 at 10:00 and 11:30 am Mark Twain loved to invent: bring 2 gallon-sized zip-lock bags filled with any kind of Lego building blocks. We will give you the theme for the invention and 30 minutes to create. For ages 5 - 12.
Thursday, April 12 at 10:00 and 11:30 am Kids will employ scientific tools as they learn the key to identifying trees. Activities will help kids delve into the woody life of trees. We'll go outside if weather permits. For grades 1 - 7.
Pirates on the Mississippi! Friday, April 13 at 10:00 and 11:30 am Get your eye patch, learn some pirate language and have a fun time. For ages 6 - 12.
For Grades 7 and up:

Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn searched for gold, we might not have gold but we have treasure! Test your skills.
Tuesday, April 10 at 2:00 pm We double dog dare you to have fun the old-fashioned way, no electronics! See what games we come up with!
Wednesday, April 11 at 2:00 pm
Mark Twain loved to invent - test your ability to be creative!
Homeschooling Book Club Thursday, April 12 at 2:00 pm Join us as we discuss "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer"
FAMILY EVENTS
Wednesday, April 11 at 6:30 pm Mark Twain's life began and ended on the years of Halley's Comet visits in 1835 and 1910. Learn a bit about Halley's Comet and astronomy from the Ford Amateur Astronomy Club. They will make a special presentation on comets, and weather permitting, take us out to look at the night sky. Thursday, April 12 at 6:30 pm
Bring the whole family and play some games that Tom Sawyer might have played.
Mark Twain / Tom Sawyer Film Festival Saturdays, April 7, 14, 21 and 28 at 10:00 am A different film will be presented each Saturday morning. Check out our Facebook page for film titles and information.

Hunger Is No Game! Drop your non-perishable food items off until April 30 at Cromaine in the Village or the Crossroads Branch, as part of Livingston Reads 2012. All six Livingston County libraries will be collecting food items for Gleaners Food Bank. Collect the most for Cromaine! Show how generous our community is to others! Thank you! |
