Chelsea Spring Expo:
Celebrating our Community

     

Spring ExpoIt's a business expo, it's a craft show, it's a bake sale...it's the Chelsea Spring Expo! This fabulous community event will showcase the diversity of services and products available in the Chelsea area. Over 125 vendors will be on display.

Stop by and see library staff, get signed up for a library card, experiment with an e-reader and get guidance with borrowing library e-books. Learn more about our Lucky Day collection, try out our new video players for kids- Playaway Views, and get a sneak peek at our summer reading program.

Admission is free, and so is the parking. There will be something for everyone, so don't miss this great day and bring your family and friends.

Park and Read is Back!

Free One-Day Vehicle Permit

Back for a fourth summer, the DNR and the Library of Michigan are again offering Park & Read, which allows Chelsea District Library resident cardholders to "check-out" a free one-day vehicle permit to any Michigan state park or recreation area this summer.

  

This $6 savings also provides free access to the more than 500 events taking place in state parks throughout the summer.

Passes are valid for seven days from check-out and may be used for one day at any one of Michigan's 98  state parks.  Passes are valid for day-use only.

  

Free Hammock

Many participating parks will offer a free hammock to use during your time in the park, allowing you to fully enjoy a great book in Michigan's great outdoors.

 

A joint venture of the Michigan Department of Natural ResourcesMacy'sThe Hammock Company, and the Library of Michigan.

Endowment Fund 

The Chelsea District Library Endowment Fund was established in 1998 under the auspices of the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan. Its mission is to provide a permanent source of income to ensure continued excellence in the programs and services provided by the Chelsea District Library.

  

Your contribution to the Endowment Fund is a gift that grows. The principal remains intact, while the interest gained supports the programs and services you enjoy, and promises a rich library experience for future generations. In addition, your gift earns special tax credits

Go to the library's endowment fund page and follow the steps under Make Your Donation Online.      

To be sure your gift goes to the Chelsea District Library:

  1. Choose Agency Endowment Funds.      
  2. In the window that opens, scroll down to find Chelsea District Library and select by checking the box. Click Finished at the bottom of that page.      
  3. Continue completing the form with your information.  
  4. Feel good about your contribution to the future of your library.
