Detroit Working Writers From Passion to Profession Conference Sept 15th #michlit


Detroit Working Writers is pleased to announce that registration for our one-day writers' conference, "From Passion to Profession" at the Clinton-Macomb Public Library, is now open. We are also welcoming entries for the DWW Writing Competition, open to DWW members and writers who reside in the State of Michigan. Writers and aspiring writers of all skill levels are encouraged to attend the conference and enter the competition. Registration and entry forms are available for download below.

Conference highlights. Included in registration fee: four workshop sessions led by published writing professionals, with 16 different topics to choose from; a keynote presentation by Elizabeth Kane Buzzelli, author of the successful Emily Kincaid mystery series; a boxed lunch; continental breakfast; a gift bag; book sale and book signings by authors. Writing Competition highlights. Open to DWW members and writers who reside in the State of Michigan; only unpublished work may be submitted. May submit as many entries as you like in five categories: fiction, non-fiction, poetry, journalism and scriptwriting. Three prizes awarded in each genre: first place $100, second place $75, third place $50. Winners will be announced at the conference; need not be present to win. Complete details available in the entry form below. Submission deadline: July 15, 2012.
