The Big Read at Cromaine Library continues with several more special guests this week. Follow the links below for easy sign up on our Cromaine calendar. All of these events lead up to our visit from Mark Twain on Monday, April 30 at the Hartland Music Hall! Reserve your seat today!

Saturday, April 21 at 1:00 pm
Bring your kids, 3rd grade and up, to Village Manor to talk with and hear stories from some of the Village's residents. Let your kids hear what it was like "back in my day!" Before color TV, video games and ereaders.

Monday, April 23 at 6:30 pm
Dominican University Professor and Mark Twain expert Dr. Chad Rohman, will visit Hartland to talk about the time period that Tom Sawyer was written, and the importance of keeping Twain's work fully intact. He will discuss the recent changes made to "Huck Finn" and how altering this text will affect our classics.

What is it like to travel on the Mississippi River? Join us as Salty Dog Travel owner Louise Weaver shows us photos, film and explains a bit on the history of traveling the river plus how we can travel it today! Register - Crossroads.


Thursday, April 26 at 7:00 pm
This amazing documentary film will take us on a "cavers" journey to Greenland, Yucatan and the Grand Canyon. Climbing, twisting, swimming, dropping into another world that most of us will never reach. With only one cave in the State of Michigan, Bear Cave in Buchanan, this is an adventure that you will want to see!

Drop your non-perishable food items off until April 30 at Cromaine in the Village or the Crossroads Branch, as part of Livingston Reads 2012.
All six Livingston County libraries will be collecting food items for Gleaners Food Bank. Collect the most for Cromaine! Show how generous our community is to others!  Thank you!
