Don't Miss The Show

Mark May 23rd as the date to Get Versed about the depth of young talent in Detroit.  We can hardly wait to unleash some of InsideOut Literary Arts' brightest young poets, spoken word artists, singers and dancers onto the stage at the storied Detroit Film Theater, inside of the Detroit Institute of Arts.

Tickets for the second annual Get Versed are just $ 5.00 and can be purchased online.  You may also purchase tickets in person: Fourteen East Cafe©, in Midtown, located just across the street from the Detroit Historical Museum; at Cafe Con Leche in Southwest Detroit, on West Vernor Highway, just across the street from Clark Park; or at Lido Gallery & Gifts on Woodward Ave., in Birmingham.

The curtain goes up at 5:30 p.m and will include a tribute to beloved Detroit singer and songwriter David Blair, who passed away not long after emceeing the inaugural Get Versed.  IO's happy to welcome an equally committed and multi-talented Detroit artist into the role of host this year, LaShaun Phoenix Moore.

With Phoenix, a poet, singer and songwriter, as our guiding light, you're sure to enjoy and to remember the 2012 show.2012 Get Versed Host LaShaun Phoenix Moore

We could tell you more about the show but that would spoil our students' hard work and the excitement that promises to make Get Versed an hour well spent.  Here's a taste of what Detroit said about Get Versed in 2011.See you at the show.
