What Do You Geek?
- What do you enjoy?  What interests you?  Over the next year, the Library is on a mission to find out what you geek most and help you expand and explore your interests at the Library.  We will introduce our Geek campaign at the Memorial Day Parade and at the Library during the week of May 28th.  Stop by the Library during this week for more details and the chance to win some great geek prizes!

Come see the new historical display case located on the first floor, next to the elevators.  This case was purchased with monies donated on behalf of Hugh and Kathy Crawford, longtime residents of Novi and strong supporters of Novi's history.  If you have any information or artifacts you would consider donating or loaning for the display case, please contact Library Historian, Kathy Mutch at

Friendraiser:  Friday, June 8, 7-9pm
All current Friends of the Novi Public Library  are invited to bring a new "Friend" - and - new "Friends" are invited to buy a ticket, which includes Friends membership, to the Friendraiser event.  This event features music by Legacy Jazz Trio, refreshments, beverages and "Friend-ly" fun!  Email friends@novilibrary.org for reservations.  Flyer

Celebrate the Centennial Celebration of the Gift of Trees May 12-18.  The City of Novi, along with the Library and Novi Community Schools, is offering a variety of cherry tree-inspired activities for all ages.  Drop by the Library on May 17 from 4-8pm to create Japanese crafts and haikuLearn More

Checkout our newest database, available through the Library website.  Tumblereadables is an online collection of read-along titles for elementary, middle school, and high school students which features adjustable online text and complete audio narration.  Great for emergent, reluctant, or ESL readers!

Summer Reading Programs
...for youth, teens, and adults start June 18 and run through August 4.  Track your time reading and visit the Library to collect prizes, check out books, and attend super programs!   Youth and teens completing the Summer Reading Games are invited to parties at Paradise Park featruring free games, laser tag, and food.  Applications now being accepted for teen volunteers.    
Mark Your Calendar!Novi Farmers Market 
The Novi Farmers' Market opens on Saturday, June 9th at Fuerst Park (enter off of Taft Rd.) and will be open every Saturday from 9am until 2pm. The Market features fresh vegetables, berries, flowers, smoked sausage, and crafts.  Call the Novi Chamber of Commerce for more information, (248) 349-3743.

Scrapbook for a Cause:  August 4, 9am-Midnight
Back by popular demand - The Library is hosting 15 hours of scrapbooking fun with Creative Memories consultant, Mary Gantt.  Enjoy lunch, dinner, refreshments, snacks, door prizes, and demonstrations.  All proceeds go to support future Library programming events.  1 scrapper can enjoy a 6 foot table for $50 and 2 scrappers can share a 6 foot table for $40.  Call 248.869-7204 to register.
