Those attending will learn how to use the Foundation Directory Online Professional database which is available for free use in the library. They will also be shown other resources related to fundraising for nonprofits. Proposal Writing Basics from The Foundation Center at the Michigan State University Library The presenter for this session will be David Holmes, Midwest regional training coordinator for the Foundation Center, a national organization dedicated to strengthening the nonprofit sector. For those new to proposal writing, this class will cover: 1. How the proposal fits into the overall grantseeking process. 2. What to include in a standard proposal to a foundation. 3. Tips for making each section of your proposal stronger. 4. What funders expect to see in your proposal and attachments. 5. Tips for communicating with funders during the grant process. 6.
